Really Good HD bootReviewed by Justin from PA on Tuesday, October 2, 2018First I own about 12 pairs of Western boots, Tony Lama, Nocona, Lucchese, Frye, Dan Post, etc. I've been wearing them for 40+ years, so I know what I'm saying. These are real handmade {in Mexico} Tony Lama boot NO PLASTIC, all leather. The reason I bought them is the sole. All my others are leather, and I wanted a all purpose outdoor sole.I ordered a 10 EE and they are true to size, will need minor breakin. My only dislike is they are heavy, like the spec's say more than 1.5 lbs more than most and the color is a darker than I hoped, again like STP said chocolate. Like one other reviewer said with this sole you can use these to hike in. And PS I wore them out for a couple hours and you can't see any indication of wear, heavy duty

the comment by someone else that there is plastic on this boot is patently false. not accusing anyone of lying, but there's some mistake if anyone thinks there's plastic on this boot. aside from the leather boot and wood/leather/rubber bottomed heel, there is only embroidery on the boot.
that taken care of, these are as high quality as the picture shows. easy to walk in with the rubber bottomed heel which is layered over leather. the fit and construction fits the foot like few other western boots i've ever purchased. while i have not worn these too much, the durability of the thick leather, heel and welt sewn sole is substantial...more noticeable than perhaps any boot i've ever owned except for hiking boots, which these actually compare to without at all being heavy.
as for looks, even tho i'm a round toe western boot guy, i will get modest square toes if they look good, and these look as good on as they do in the picture here. one note, these are super premium boots that normally sell for a lot more than on sierra here, so if they have your size i'd recommend getting them. i googled the boot in general to see what the prices were, and this is not just the lowest price, but it is a substantial discount.
i love these. one note is that while most western boots seem to follow the western boot code of sizing...and stick to it among the different brands...tony lama is noted for being maybe a quarter of a size bigger than all other brands of western boots. i normally get a 10.5 boot and my left foot (no pun with the movie) is about a quarter of a size bigger, so i have to use boot stretchers and oversize boot trees to get that boot a bit bigger to fit. with tony lamas (i have 2 pairs, the other a round toe) no stretching was needed for that left foot. something to keep in mind if you're on the edge of a size and want to know which way these go. -

Before I even had them broken in the Sean trim on the side solution several places. Turns out these boots are NOT 100% leather. The trim is plastic or vinyl or some other cheap material that is falling apart. Doesn't affect the integrity of the boot, but if they start peeling too they won't be wearable. Even at $99 they are cheap.

STP was his choice because of the explanations of how to choose the proper boots for his uses and how to best maintain his boots. He loves his first pair of high quality boots and has received many compliments about them.
