Prepped for next ski seasonVerified Buyer Reviewed by Peppybuck from Washington on Wednesday, April 17, 2019I bought two pair of the Smartwool PhD Ski LT Vans socks in size Large; one in the classic Tube Sock colorway and one in the Palm Tree colorway. The price was too good to pass up and I think they both bring an element of fun to the ski kit. I wanted the light cushion of these socks because they should provide a little more warmth than the Phd Ultralights I've been using for the past few years. The cushion does not seem excessive and it's zoned for the toes, heels, and shin. I was a little concerned about sizing because my shoe size is right in the 11.5 - 12 range and the large in these tops out at 11.5. Turns out the fit is just right. Had I gone XL, I would've had excess fabric which I don't need in my ski boots. I haven't skied in them yet due to it being end of season, but I expect them to be as comfortable and long lasting as the Ultralights, just a little warmer on those days when the temps are running below 20 degrees fahrenheit and the wind is blowing.
