There is so much padding on the sole of the sock, and they are very very warm. They do run a bit big, but that's perfect for wearing another pair of socks underneath when it is bitter cold.

The design of the sock keeps it perfectly in place on my foot, so it doesn't slide to the toe of my boot. I could discern no blemishes with this pair. Icebreaker runs a bit larger than smartwool, but the Medium I ordered fits my size 8 foot well.
If you have cold feet like I do, these socks will remedy that problem! -
