Could probably work as golf shorts but they don't have a back pocket. I like the location and depth of the 2 leg pockets on each side and the touch fastener at the waist is adequate without a belt. I have several "nylon" belts from other shorts that work fine with these. These are not made with stretch fabric but have a substantial fee and are comfortable to wear. At this price I couldn't pass them up and I am glad I bought them.

Did not have pockets except the cargo pockets down low on the legs. Has a velcro waist closure. Looks more like a swimsuit, but there is no mesh lining inside. Very strange, but husband will keep as a swimsuit.

The only problem is when I put my cell phone in one of the leg pockets it's so low it tends to swing around a bit and fall out when I sit down. Great for around the house, but these are intended for the beach or lake and are perfect for this.
