The closure is not uncomfortable but I am aware of it. Have worn with jeans and a t shirt. Smooth but not really a tummy control type. Material comfortable against skin. I am a size 8 /34D and I got the L. AM glad I ordered 2.

The wide edges of the hook closures on the bottom cut into the top of the inner thigh. If you are only sitting it might not be so painful, but when walking, the pain becomes increasingly uncomfortable. Underwear doesn't help, though perhaps bike shorts might. Otherwise, it is ok. The shoulder straps are fully adjustable.
