I got a wide with which ended up being too wide overall. The shoes appear to be well-made, comfortable footbed and true to size in length. The wide width created extra space not only in the toebox but also across the top of the foot so it was difficult to tighten the laces enough to get a snug fit, his foot just felt sloppy inside the shoe. May work for other feet just not ours.
