I typically wear a medium shirt and I needed an XL in this. The back is cute on the blue because it has a flower pattern. I still wore my sports bra underneath so it did show through the criss-cross hole in the back. That did not bother me. I have done two sprint triathlons in this top and it worked very well. I never felt the need to tug at it and I had no chaffing.

When it arrived, I was very disappointed with the 'built-in bra' as it was only an extra layer of fabric with an elastic bottom: a shelf-bra at best. I returned it for a Speedo tankini, which isn't as long but offers a lightly padded bra inside for a much smoother look. Overall, I'm very happy with STP's selection and product descriptions; in this case, the description does not fit the product.

I had a friend who is smaller than me try on the XL and it fir her. She usually wears a medium. The one thing she did like was that the top was long.
