I needed to wear these following heart surgery and I in my 70's with arthritis and had no problem putting them on not having the problem the previous reviewer had. One technique is to first bunch up the sock on your foot, then pull the sock as high as you can on your leg and then grab the heel of the sock and pull it over your heel.

The weave and thickness is great, the socks are labeled for left and right foot, but I could not pull them up over my feet. For people with arthritis in their hands, as I have, I just could not get the strength to pull the socks over my feet, let alone the calves. I wonder how people without arthritic hands manage.
