Hand wash, non citric detergent recommendedVerified Buyer Reviewed by Francesca from LowCountry, SC on Monday, March 18, 2019Seriously I don't mind hand washing knives but who doesn't use a dish washing soap that doesn't have citric in it. Dawn, Lemon Joy, Ajax, Palmolive, you name it and if it works, it has citric in it. So I wont be be following recommended washing directions because I wont be purchasing another detergent specifically to wash my new knife set. I'm sure they will last forever either way. They all are Sturdy bulky knifes so should be fine. I haven't been using them because they "feel" heavy duty to me and I guess I'm just used to my light handled Japanese brand chopping knife that is a nice medium size because I have arthritis. But these will come in handy when I need to do some serious cutting up a whole chicken or taking venison off the bone.
