I failed to inquire about that when I purchased them for my 12 year old son. I thought that being made by Black Diamond they would've automatically have been water proof. After a few hours of snowboarding they were soaked inside and out. They are great for keeping your hands warm if you are not intending on touching any snow. I will have to coat them with water repellent prior to my next snowboarding trip.
