Most Helpful 5-Star Review

5.0 out of 5 stars. No chamois

I wear these as a base layer while Mountain Biking Mission Trails in SD on the 10 days/yr it get below 60 degrees. Outer layer is Gore Alp-X w/ a built in chamois/liner. This combo works ideal, great compression, not too hot or sweaty on the climbs or too cool on the descents. The caveat here is that M Trails are "burst" climbs usually < 500' on hard pack w/ lots of loose golf ball size stones so how they would work on "grinders" is up to you to find out. Sizing is regular "American" so go by the PI sizing chart.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. a little tight

I wear a 30" waist in most pants, but the smalls were tight on me. They also don't have the stretchyness I expected from other PRO products I've used - such as the cycling bibs form PZ. If you are on the cusp of two sizes - order the size up!

These are great but there is no padding. They are just a liner

Getting ready for the cooler weather, tried out on cooler morning and could tell that they were great. Fit under my regular shorts with no problem.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Comfortable and great for cold weather rides

I don't always want to wear a ful length second layer but want protection in all the right places. These are perfect!

About Pearl Izumi

Before Kinji Shimizu created the first Pearl Izumi cycling apparel, he spent nearly seven days a week on his bike delivering 90 pounds of clothes to customers. He frequently pedaled 38 miles a day. Years later, after his son received a special Italian-made cycling jersey, Kinji was inspired to start creating his own using the best fabrics he could find. The result soon evolved into the Pearl Izumi brand. In the five decades since, the company Kinji founded has continued working hard to make the best gear possible for dedicated athletes and weekend warriors. From incredibly lightweight Pearl Izumi shoes to sleek, comfortable Pearl Izumi running apparel, few other brands have the same relentless drive toward innovation as Pearl Izumi.
