3.0 out of 5 stars. 3-1/2 stars - could have been a great design!Reviewed by Anonymous from Oregon on Monday, February 24, 2014As with so many items of clothing made in China, the lack of craftmanship was the first thing I noticed. The sweater's pattern wasn't crafted with the skill one *should* demand for a sweater that cost over $100.00. Sadly, since almost without exception, all clothing today is made in China or other Asian countries, consumers have no choice but to lower expectations regarding quality while paying higher prices.. What all of this translates to in terms of this sweater is, the pattern that doesn't fit the female form very well. Reverse seams - crooked no less - along the sides and sleeves aren't flattering at all but fortunately don't draw too much attention.
Now the pros! It's a cotton blend and yes, very soft! In spite of its heaviness, it's quite comfortable *and* 'comforting' to wear in cold weather. Haven't worn it under a jacket yet, but I think it'll work. Since the cotton weave has holes, would definitely need a jacket if going out in cold winds. The mock turtle neck is a nice feature and the extra long sleeves with fold back cuffs should accommodate all body types.
I'm not sorry I bought it compared to what I've seen in local department stores. But this sweater would never have been worth full price or even 20% off. I do recommend it for comfort/warmth but make sure you buy it at a really great discount! -

Didn't give it 5 stars because I haven't washed or cleaned it yet so not sure how it will look after that. This sweater is a necessity in the cold Chicago weather.

This is the best one I've ever owned. It is a nice weight, great length (no belly showing, but skimming the hips as not to add extra bulk to an already hippy lady), the colors are great ( I have the black and gray ones). It has some nice added touches like the mock neck, and a nice snowflake design. I would highly recommend it! Get 2!!!

It's a cotton sweaterReviewed by Anonymous from Michigan on Sunday, November 24, 2013I know I should have read the details, but it is called a "fireside sweater," it is big and bulky, and it has a snowflake embroidered on it. I completely expected it to be wool. It is not. It is cotton. A big, bulky, cute-but-not-warm sweater. Would have loved it in a wool. Sent it back. If cotton suits you, it's a ver nice quality. It fits generously. If you're between sizes, I would order down.

I've moved to a colder climate and need to find lots of sweaters. This one is nice and warm and so cute!
