The sleeves can't be pulled up and there's no ventilation. By the end of the day my arms were dripping sweat (gross). I need to add some arm pit vents to this.
The material is nice and quiet and it is really waterproof. The mesh lining doesn't help with breathability, though.
Make sure you have a blaze orange vest for when you get too hot in this thing and have to take it off. -

Onyx rain jacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by nygeocacher from New York on Friday, July 25, 2014We loved these jackets and rated them highly the first time we got them...my husband is 5'8 / 200 lb and got the XL and can fit a light jacket under for extra warmth if needed. I am 5'3' / 137 lb and got the M with room under for a light jacket also. We like the coverage past our hips for pouring rain. We had used these jackets on many long hikes in the pouring rain and always remained bone dry. We only wear them when it's chilly out in hunting season for hiking, as the warmth feels good, they don't breathe and if you wear them in the warm weather, you'll end up soaked on the inside of the jacket. We had to order them again because someone ransacked our car in our own driveway and made off with all our things including our rain coats. I know whoever ends up with our stolen jackets will love them too lol!! Thanks for still having them and for the quick shipping. Hoping all stays quiet and we don't have to come back a third time.

The pockets are nice, the jacket is quiet, but it does not breathe. Great for cold climates with limited movement as a windbreaker or outer layer but you do not want to wear it if you're active. I have not had a chance to wear it in the rain but it appears the inner liner should do its job.

The jacket is well constructed and great for the money spent. It is blaze orange and will be perfect on the trail. The bottom of the jacket has a toggle pull to draw the jacket closer to your body to prevent wind or rain from going up. The storm flap is generous and the pockets can be used two ways...from the top and side. The hood just covers the head...I wish it were a bit roomier but it will tighten around the face so it wont blow back in the wind so that helps. The fabric on the outside is soft and truely is quiet in movement. Inside is mesh and comfortable. We bought two, one for my husband 5ft 8in 200lb who usually wears a L, but sized up to XL so he can layer and it's not too large to wear without layers too. It falls a little lower than on the model in the picture and he likes that coverage. And one for me, 5ft 4in. 134lb. I usually wear a M and I bought a M in mens and it's roomy but comfortable and there is room to layer a jacket or so under too if I want. It just covers my hips and bottom nicely. We are very happy with these wind and rain proof jackets. Thanks.
