That they are Simms only verifies that they're top quality. I purchased both a large and an XL and found that the large fit best. I'm somewhere between a 34"&36" waist and always have difficulty with fit. The XL fits but is definitely "roomy". No mesh liner so exercise caution. Great for the beach or boat and enjoying the water but awesome for wet wading. A zippered pocket on one side also has places for holding your hemostats or other tools and a Velcro pocket on the other for easy access of a waterproof camera or similar. Both are good sized.

They do not have traditional pockets near the waist line. That's OK if you are at the beach or surfing:) but for everyday wear it's not practical for me.
