5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent work shirt

This is an excellent shirt that is very comfortable to wear. Plenty of room in the shoulders. It is a little heavy to wear in warmer temperatures (above 75 F.). A good value for the money.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Nice, comfortable, but button holes needed threads trimmed
Reviewed by Jon K from Minnesota on Friday, February 27, 2015
Fabric is thick and comfortable. The front of the collar spreads out farther than I'd like but it's not a big deal.

This shirt comes buttoned, and when I tried to unbutton it almost all of the buttons got stuck on threads that were connected to the top and bottom of the buttonhole but were not sewn to the sides as they should have been, effectively creating two buttonholes in one spot: (|) I had to snip the threads to fix the problem. So far there's no fraying and I don't think it will be a problem, but I've only worn it twice so far.

    Would buy again.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Thinner than i thought, everything clings to it

i was expecting a thicker material. the over-sized collar flaps all over the place. every piece of fuzz, hair and dust sticks to it. My least favorite Carhartt product so far, and i own lots. Overall, it's just an average shirt.

Thought we could no longer get this durable canvas shirt. We should have bought more. My husband is elated! You will not be disappointed.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Quality, utility and comfort in a great-looking shirt for work and play!

Excellent Irregular shirt. I found no obvious issues with the one I received, besides its a "work" shirt its meant to have some character - either built in or added from use. The canvas material used is very comfortable and typical of the Carhartt brand - very durable. All buttons perfectly aligned with their holes, All the major seams are all triple-stitched and the rest double-stitched. A really nice feature of this "Trade" shirt is the two additional utility pockets sewn-in just in front of left chest pocket. The utility pockets were sewn so well I almost didn't notice them. Perfect place to put the marking pencil or other small items like drill bits, screw, etc so you won't lose track of them on the job. This shirt also features the Carhartt logo embossed into a leather strip sewn into the pocket left rim too. A very nice stylish detail.

I've already put this shirt to good use while removing and re-installing 12"x12" ceiling tile, removing trim work, and next for the installation of crown moulding around the new ceiling. This shirt will see action outside when tournament fishing season starts - sometimes a T-shirt just isn't enough in the early spring. I think the other shirts in my closet are getting jealous since I wear so much already. Its so comfortable I wear around the house even when I'm not working on the "Honey Do" list that's on the fridge.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Sturdy, well fitting shirt

I've been buying variants of this Carhartt shirt for 10 years now and I love them. Part of the reason is that they fit my body well--the sleeves are the right length, the yoke matches my shoulders and they are loose enough not to bind but not baggy. I have to cut the buttons off the pockets, though, as they scratch the screen of my cell phone case, but I never buttoned them anyway. And the pockets work perfectly: the left for my large (Samsung Note) phone, a small notebook and pen and pencil (which are nicely separated so they don't fall out when I pull out the phone) and the right for my bluetooth headset when I don't want to look like a total geek.

They hold up well, too. As I said, I've been buying them for 10 years and I have yet to have one were out whereas other heavier shirts have. I"m not sure what makes them 2nds, though, they don't have any defects I can find.

About Carhartt

If you're looking for durable, comfortable clothing and outerwear, few other brands can compete with Carhartt. Although the venerable Carhartt clothing company has become one of the most respected names in American work wear today, the brand comes from humble roots. Founded in 1889, the family-owned business started out in Detroit, Michigan with just two sewing machines and five employees. During The First World War, the company made uniforms for the US military and also manufactured work clothing for the Navy during WWII. Today, Carhartt clothing is still known for robust fabrics, top-notch construction and a great fit. From rugged Carhartt jackets and coveralls to jeans and shirts, this is one brand you can trust to deliver the real deal -- every time.
