Fleece that is fuzzy on both sides is almost impossible to find anymore. I've looked everywhere. Now, it's all slick and smooth on the outside. Fuzzy on both sides moves like regular fabric. The new stuff that's all stiff and slick outside does not move right. It creases and folds like an old rubber yellow raincoat. This fuzzy-outside garment, though, feels a lot more like wool than rubber. And it's a zip up hoodie. No frills, none needed. And it's warm over thin cotton on this cold (55 F) rainy summer night.
The XL fit is fine for me, 6' tall and 205 lbs, although the armpits could be a bit looser, as another review says. -

The armpits on the Large are too small. That's not something I find in clothing I try on, so this one is cut unusually small in the pits. Also, the "Bear Berber" fleece is rather thin. If you're looking for an "extra-warm knit....fleece, look elsewhere. -

However, the thirteen year-old is about to outgrow youth sizes. It has been nearly impossible to find a men's hooded performance fleece at a reasonable price... until I found this one. This seems to be a good quality midweight fleece; it packs down nicely and is lofty. It fits as expected. The Berber facing on the inside is very soft. The outside is standard fleece rather than the smooth-faced fleece you find in workout clothing (which I believe is denser and heavier and is not what I wanted.) It's nothing fancy, no bells and whistles or fancy zipped pockets, but it's what we wanted.
