This blanket is lightweight and breathable so it keeps you warm without breaking a sweat as it does allow air transfer enough to keep from doing the on and off again with the blanket at night. Wash it regularly as have pets and it has held up very well. Also durable and holds up to cats with claws playing on blanket. So glad I have this blanket. Would get another in a second.

I hate to give it up, but I ordered two for my elderly mother in a nursing home who complains of being cold all the time. I hope these blankets will help her to feel warm so she can sleep better - just too bad I can't envelope her in them somehow as she goes about her day!
As several other reviewers noted, I noticed that these blankets are labeled as being made with bamboo which makes them even more appealing for all the qualities bamboo imparts. -

It is very soft and though it is not excessively thick, it adds quite a bit of warmth. If you like to snuggle the edges of your blanket, you may cause some visible wear. It's a very nice blanket though.
