I certainly noticed when the shirt arrived. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's better to know what you're getting. I also wish I'd ordered a size up from my regular size so the bottom hem wasn't pulled tight around my hips (which are pretty slim).

The fabric poufs out awkwardly just below the twist, making it look like you've got a grapefruit in the center of your torso. The length is nice and long, and the fabric feels wonderful against the skin. Perhaps this would work as a maternity top (as another reviewer has said), where a pregnant bely would fill in the extra fabric! For reference, I'm 5'6" 125lb and the Small fit well, aside from the pouf issue.

2.0 out of 5 stars. fantastic maternity top, otherwise terribly unflatteringReviewed by honeybee from upstate NY on Thursday, June 5, 2014The two stars are for the lovely super stretchy fabric (94% cotton 6% lycra) and the nice colors -- I ordered both the pretty light blue and black which is not at all shiny despite high lycra content. This top looked like it would be my new favorite but the fit is, sadly, awful. Between myself and two teenage daughters (we range from 5'2" to 5'5" and 95 - 110 lbs, from very curvy to straight and thin) usually everything I order fits someone! This top pooches out below the knot as if you are hiding a beach ball beneath it. The black is definitely shorter and smaller all around therefore slightly less of the maternity lump. No matter how straight you stand, or even iron the front flat, it looked ridiculous on all of us to different degrees. I can't imagine how they got that shot of the model. If I could sew I might try to take in the front seam in straight down the front and create a really lovely well fitting tunic. I should add that this shirt is very long - really a tunic, or short dress. If you can sew and like the look of this top, you should be able to transform it into a very attractive, comfortable versatile tunic to wear over leggings with boots, sandals or flats, and even for yoga :)

I highly recommend. *if you have a short torso, this won't likely work well for you, as it is fairly long.
