So far, the top portion has not rolled down, which drives me crazy. I carry my excess baggage in the front. I have noticed that some of the silicon threads around the legholes have pulled out already, but they're still very wearable. I can fix that if the problem worsens. The reason for the four is regarding the "firm" issue, I would rate them "moderate" at best. They are very lightweight and they don't bind.
