4.0 out of 5 stars. good feelVerified Buyer Reviewed by Mtguy from North Idaha on Sunday, June 14, 2015The shoes are comfortable and supportive like any Chaco I've had. Didn't give a 5-star just because the style was not quite what I thought. These are kind of "skate-boardy" so not the look I wanted. I changed out the yellow laces, which helped. Comfy dog walking shoes, so dog is happy.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Love 'em, but...Reviewed by TheBob_1 from Blue Ridge Mountain Foothills, Virginia on Thursday, February 26, 2015...as with some other reviewers, I find the heel wants to slip up a little (have only worn around house for 20 min. so far). Hoping this resolves with use and continued lace tightening. Otherwise - and as with other Chacos - comfort and build quality are top-notch. Love the insoles which offer just enough arch
support and cushioning without being too hard or too soft.
Insane sale price on STP.
Only complaint, if you could call it that, is the yellow in the pics of the "Tar" shoe is actually more of a fluorescent yellow-green, not a true gold-yellow like the photos. I did not get an alternative (low-key) color set of laces like with other Chacos, but at this pRice, I can afford to buy a set of grey or brown laces, or just keep the safety-yellow ones ;-) -
5.0 out of 5 stars. First time ChacoVerified Buyer Reviewed by Sam the man from Tennessee on Thursday, February 19, 2015I knew Chaco makes great shoes & sandals. Not cheap. I bought these on sale, great price. Good fit and nicely made. The only way to beat these shoes if they were gore tex.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Nice shoesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Skinlessfoot from Boise on Thursday, November 20, 2014Nice, comfortable shoes. The quality appears up to Chaco standards (I've only worn them a few weeks). The only downside is that my heels don't suck in well and will move up and down. This is not a problem with day to day wear but if I wanted to hike in them I might end up with blisters.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Heel feels loose and arch support pales in comparison to PedShed/sandals.Reviewed by Anonymous from Massachusetts on Friday, February 7, 2014Purchased these based on both my experiences with Chaco sandals and shoes as well as many reviews stating the Balmers were similarly designed and as comfortable as the sandals the company is known for. My experience, however, differs as the Balmers don't give my arches the same level of support as my PedSheds, while the heel of the sneaker is far too soft and doesn't "hold" the foot in the shoe. It's not a matter of the shoe being large as my toes are right where they're supposed to be in the front of the sneaker, so I'm just guessing the heel is a (poor) design decision. In any event, I wouldn't wear these for hikes or long distance walking as I don't trust them in terms of stability. With this loose/soft heel, I'd fear turning an ankle or worse, especially on uneven/rocky terrain.

4.0 out of 5 stars. In between sizesReviewed by Anonymous from Florida on Friday, January 3, 2014For a casual/sporty type of shoe, this shoe has a much nicer look than most running shoes. The cushioning is superb. I'm not terribly excited about the yellow laces (don't mind the yellow soles), but laces are easy to change. The problem I have with these shoes is the size--I usually wear a size 12, but my toe comes up against the end of the shoe in this 12. I am confident the 13 would be too large, so I will pass on this shoe. I had the same problem with Keen sandals, which I love, but the sizing is just not right for my foot. Ironically, the size 12 Chaco sandals are a perfect fit for me (but then again, they also have an open toe which gives a bigger margin of error for that measurement.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Not sure of sizingReviewed by bc from West Elmira on Monday, October 21, 2013I originally bought a pair of size 13 which were too big so I returned for a size 12. These, it so happens, are too small. The footbed feels comfortable, yet neither size fit in a way I would want to wear them all day. I have owned Chaco sandals for years and they are quite comfortable. I was hoping their shoes would satisfy as well. In addition, I am disappointed that Sierra Trading Post charges shipping for exchanges.
