Fabric is nice, light woven, waistband is wide and stretchy knit. Three pockets for gels or keys, no zippers though. I am 5'8" & 130 lbs, medium is a good fit. Nice length.

For a frame of reference, I wear a medium in Nike tempo shorts, but they have seen me through a 20 lb weight gain, so I'm on the less roomy end of the medium. Currently 5'4"/145. I ordered these Salomon Light Shorts in a large.They were too short and much too tight. I exchanged for an extra-large. Extra-large are big in the waist, but fit well in my full hips and thighs. The inner cinch tie helps, but causes the extra fabric at the waist to bunch a bit. These shorts are light and comfortable, but I have not run in them yet.

The fit is fantastic! They're light, keep you feeling dry when sweating and are very well-constructed; they seem to be very high quality & incredibly comfortable all around. They don't ride up in the back and the waistband stays in place. The leg cut is perfect for proper coverage but total freedom of movement while running. I am a very petite-built 5'2'' and struggle tremendously at finding clothes that fit WELL. These are well-worth the purchase!
