5.0 out of 5 stars. Lovely dressy holiday top

This light sweater is simple but dressy. It fits true to size - I was worried that the sleeves would be too tight but they're not. The front & back neck are scooped but in a flattering way. The gold color has a very slight shimmer.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Couldn't get off the fence on this one.

I wish I could have tried on all 3 colors. It is a pretty, festive shirt, perfect for the winter holidays. I bought the emerald and found the fit perfect. At 5' 6", 120 lbs, the medium was true to size. I didn't find the arms tight. I usually wear fairly subdued clothes and this shiny shirt was a bit of a departure, which really appealed to me (who can't have too many clothes), but my husband didn't like it.. He thought it was flattering and interesting and thought maybe it was the color that put him off. I value his opinion and had I loved the shirt I would have ignored him, but I agreed with him, which is why I asked him in the first place. I needed someone to sway me in either direction. On me the green color looked kind of cheesy. The other colors may have had a different impact and wish I could have checked them out. It's a cool shirt for the right person.

This is the "dressy" top that my wardrobe has never had! It goes nicely with a black skirt or dressy black slacks. I bought it in emerald green and plan to wear it for the holidays.

About August Silk

It is no accident that August Silk is named thus... for it is their luxurious silk fabrics and knits which define the major portion of this company's infinitely feminine clothing line. August Silk is involved in every conceivable facet of its silk business in China, from growing cocoons to spinning yarns to designing fashions. It is said that silk was invented when an ancient Chinese empress dropped a cocoon into her tea and it unraveled into glorious silk threads subsequently sought after by royalty all over the world. Whether or not this legend is true, it is most certainly true that silk is one of the most luxurious and lustrous fibers in the textile industry and August Silk is among its most accomplished purveyors.
