5.0 out of 5 stars. Heavy duty!!Reviewed by Anonymous from Fayetteville, Arkansas, U. S. A. on Tuesday, August 19, 2014I spent $48.00 dollars on this rod. I bought it for catfish which may grow very large. The rod has lifting power. The cosmetics are in my opinion beautiful. I also bought the ten foot model. This has more lifting power to it. For now I placed a Abu Garcia 5600c on this rod. Just as the other Wright and McGill the ergonomics are pleasant with a long grip that is sufficiently padded to keep hand fatigue to a minimum. Coupled to my Garcia 5600c I have an outstanding rig. The ten foot and a half foot length allows me to place my live bait away from the kayak and into places only catfish would stay. The lifting ability of the rod allows me to lift straight up and keep the cat from swimming into a tangling environment. The rod also has the strength to turn larger fish. I plan on using both on the Florida Gulf Coast next vacation. Put a good reel with this and you'll have a very nice rod for years. Because of the length I bought a Ross multi rod case. The rod is a two piece and it stays stored in the case until readied for use.
For the money spent this may be one of the best deals from the fishing section if the person fishing needs a heavy duty rod. -
