5.0 out of 5 stars. Great base layerReviewed by Mel from New Jersey on Monday, July 28, 2014This is a great piece of gear for winter running. It really did the trick this past winter. I wore it under some cheap polyester running pants or windbreaker type pants and they worked for a wide range of temperatures from 35 degrees F down to 20 degrees with the same setup. Before getting these bottoms, my thighs would often get cold, but these really helped me feel comfortable while running in the cold despite being very light and thin. The antimicrobial properties of this piece work very well. On par with my UnderArmour Cold Gear compression top. Wool still has it beat by a wide margin, but I could run a second time with this before you could begin to detect a smell.
I'm 5'8 and 215lbs with thick thighs and the XL fits snug (expected as a base layer) but comfortable and not restrictive. -

2.0 out of 5 stars. Tight, too tight.Reviewed by lucky from NJ on Friday, February 28, 2014Not sure how warm this would have been, as I would not fit into it. Bought medium, this was only medium cloth that I could not fit into. Buy two size larger.

5.0 out of 5 stars. outdoor manReviewed by Anonymous from New England on Saturday, December 28, 2013Nice and warm for first base layer. Fit snug to skin and can take a little to get use to. When first put on felt different snug to skin but move very nice with body. I put smart wool over these if it gets colder out and works very nice with no bulk and light weight with warmth.

5.0 out of 5 stars. outdoors manReviewed by Anonymous from New England on Saturday, December 28, 2013very good for warmth. Fit snug against body but move with you very nice, These are also very light in weight. I like these better then smart wool nts 195. On cold days 10 degrees or under I wear these then put a pair of smart wool over them and stay warm. I like with out fly because with layers on I find it easier to just grab top, the only trouble is long tail on upper clothing. They keep me the warmest out of all the light weight base layers plus work great with keeping dry. If I do a lot of moving around then I sweat but the smart silk seams to do best with that.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Feels like mostly nylonReviewed by Anonymous from North of Pittsburgh on Saturday, December 21, 2013I am 6'6", 225, 36" inseam and the 2xl fit well. I do not like the feel of the material. They grab hold of the pants I wear over top them, and I hate that binding feeling. Also, they have no fly which is a disadvantage. I have a set of Falke wool bottoms with no fly, but I usually only wear them around the house because I keep my house cold...I don't like wearing them elsewhere....
