Dr. recommended running shoes, but all the ones he bought had bright colors, which he really didn't want to wear with his kaki pants, and the wide fit seem to still be narrow at the front, and the extra wide just too loose at the heel. He loves these shoes. Says they are the most comfortable shoes he has worn. He can wear them as dress shoes as well. He is a size 13, wide, so I bought the size 13 in EW, which I don't think are extra wide because my dad is not EW, he is more in between the W and EW. They fit perfectly.

In the photo, they appear a lot less sneaker-like than they do in actuality. I have a high instep, and the laces-to-toe transition is very angular, giving a slight crimp to the fit. The foam insert is advertised as high-tech, but it's not much better than store bought cheap inserts. If you want a pair of black "tennies," these will do, but they won't do for anything other than jeans and kicking around.

Excellent fit, GREAT WALKING SHOE.Reviewed by Anonymous from WISCONSIN on Monday, October 21, 2013Ordered these in a 9.5 EW for someone who wears a 4E athletic shoe in the same size. Envelopes instep/arch nicely, unlike most athletic shoes, so you don't have it protrude through the tongue. The fit was described as a little snug near the ball/toes at first, but within hours felt great. Has a classic walking shoe level of comfort and cushioning (with a EVA mid sole, and memory foam style cushy insole). "felt comfortable all day!, could walk with a spring in my step, and a swagger". I personally think they are styled to be better looking than most walking shoes, and can easily be work shoes or travel shoes.
