5.0 out of 5 stars. Refined waterproof jacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Upbeat Betty from Berkshires, MA on Monday, May 5, 2014This fits the bill for a completely waterproof jacket that can be worn to work. Coverage is excellent, the hood fit well without any fussing, and the warm neutral color scheme complements both casual and work clothing. I am 5'8" tall with long arms and a slim build and found the fit of the large to be perfect, if not a tiny bit roomy, which is perfect for layering.

5.0 out of 5 stars. nice long sleevesVerified Buyer Reviewed by ackkat from northeast on Monday, April 14, 2014The main reason I ordered this was from another's review about the sleeve length. I am 5'7" and someone up to 5'9 would probably fit the sleeves. I am between sizes, so went with one size up, definitely needed for use with a sweater layer. It is just a "shell", has a trim cut. very attractive, windproof. Hasn't yet rained but looks and feels waterproof. The pewter is a warm gray, leaning toward a light brown - not a cool bluish gray. The warm grays work better with my coloring, so I really lucked out with this.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Odd fitVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Havertown on Thursday, April 10, 2014I was looking for a coat that combined all the high tech features with a design that wouldn't look out of place in town, and thought this would fit the bill. However the fit was very odd - very narrow below the waist, and because the fabric was very crinkly and flimsy, the lower part of the coat just stuck out rather than hung. The sleeves were way too long, but I'm used to that problem, and it was really the issue of fit and the light crinkly nature of the fabric that put me off. It is also completely unlined which I didn't like. However I ordered the ExOfficio Deluvian Trench Coat as a replacement which is a keeper. I can't really speak to the waterproof nature of either coat, as it hasn't rained yet!

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great jacket - stylish yet functional!Reviewed by Anonymous from Seattle on Saturday, March 22, 2014After searching for a very long time for a waterproof jacket that met some very specific criteria, I am happy to say that this has completely exceeded my expectations.
My main requirements were: something with a hood (you'd be surprised how many trench-style rain coats don't have them!); a belt; feminine styling (not so straight and boxy); a few external pockets (it's hard to see in the pictures, but the lower hand pockets actually have vertical zippers on the sides so you have two pockets on each hip and not just one); and in a wear-with-everything color that wasn't black. Not only does this jacket tick all those boxes, but Outdoor Research is very well made, so I didn't have to worry that I would be getting some cheaply made product. The material is perfect for layering over what you already have on, yet soft enough on the inside that it could be worn over short sleeves without feeling sticky against the skin; it is not too thin and flimsy, nor too thick and bulky. I ordered a small, which is slightly larger than my actual size, but it fits just as a jacket should, slightly larger than your normal size because it's an outer layer.
Not a problem for me at all, but worth mentioning is that the pewter color is not quite as dark as the pictures show - I was expecting more of a charcoal color, but this is actually true to what you would expect from something called "pewter." -
2.0 out of 5 stars. Way too small!Reviewed by Anonymous from Central PA on Wednesday, March 12, 2014This jacket runs way too small. When I tried it on I couldn't even get the velcro to touch on the flaps! I ordered my usual size large (pretty solid 12 all the way around) but it was definitely a no go. I'd order 2 sizes up I guess. I admit I don't own any other OR gear, but I have both Patagonia and Arcteryx jackets in size large. Other than the fit and plastic-y inside it was probably a nice coat.
