I usually wear medium but purchased a large because concern about washing/drying a cotton shirt. It is a tad "room'y." Haven't worn or washed yet so keeping fingers crossed. Even if it doesn't shrink much, it will be good around the house shirt in summer.

Possibly due to the high chlorine content of our city water. Layers well or nice alone. Sizing is accurate.
