3.0 out of 5 stars. Not sure what I thinkReviewed by Anonymous from New Jersey on Monday, February 24, 2014I had a pair of SmartWool gloves a couple of years ago that must have been the prior version of these. While those gloves were AMAZING, this pair doesn't seem quite the same. As others mentioned, the liner is not connected in any way, so it's hard to get them on or off easily. Also, they seem somewhat bulky and inflexible given that they aren't heavy gloves.
I need to give them some time to know for sure if they'll work for me. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. The perfect shell gloveReviewed by Anonymous from Oklahoma on Tuesday, February 11, 2014I would have given 5 stars if the glove did not have a built in lining. I tore (actually carefully removed) the lining out and now I have the perfect shell glove to pair with those $7/dozen white knit cotton liner gloves which are the finest liner gloves made (for my money). The shell w/liner for wind and cold - pull the shell off when you need extra dexterity but still leave the fingers protected by the liner. And the separate thin wool liners can go under the knit liners when it's really frigid. Why ruin a perfectly good glove by removing the nice wool liner you ask? The liner compressed the knit gloves too much (thus reducing the insulative value) and made it difficult to pull my hands out with the knit gloves still on. If you work with your hands you understand.
I don't expect the shells to stand up to rough usage and don't intend to subject them to such. They are mostly for wind protection. But Smartwool usually makes a good product so I'll try to remember to write a follow up review in six months (assuming the product still is listed by Sierra) about how they hold up. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Great GlovesReviewed by Sam in LA from CA on Saturday, January 25, 2014Much better than picture indicates and very warm for gloves. I use these in place of mittens for cold bike rides. Outer gloves have several layers with all wool layer next to skin. Inner gloves are very thin wool that can be supplemented with one additional pair on colder days or replaced with thicker gloves if desired.

1.0 out of 5 stars. Not up to par.....Reviewed by Anonymous from VT on Tuesday, January 21, 2014These were not the quality I expect from smartwool. The inner glove said it was merino wool but did not feel like it at all. It felt like thin poly . Even the outer glove was [...]. Sent these back.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Returned theseReviewed by Anonymous from NY on Tuesday, December 10, 2013The shell and liner are in no way connected and the liner easily slips out. Even if there were just a little strap at the wrist, that would let you pull your hand out without pulling the liner out. Other than that it seems like a nice glove.
