5.0 out of 5 stars. Much Better!

I have been riding without cycling shorts my whole life, and I have no idea why. Once I started riding with these cushioned Ergo #D chamois shorts I find my rides more enjoyable. No more sore undercarraige.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Watch your waistline!!

Nice, quality shorts with a very different fit. The waistline sits very low in the front and extremely high in the back (much the way a good pair of bib shorts fit), the problem is that these are not bib's and there is nothing to hold the rear of the shorts half way up your back!! So unless you surgically install a hook on your mid vertebrae, these shorts are going to sag half-way down your butt after a few minutes of riding. Bottom line - good quality material and pad but poor fit.

Light and comfortable. Sizes run larger than most cycling clothing so theyre close to true size, and you may even be able to size down if you are on the border.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. I expected a little more from Mavic

    The fit is awkward.

Although I do appreciate a compliment, I wear a size large normally and these shorts (also size large) feel loose. As such, they move around a bit on the bike, and I don't care for that feeling. They look nice, the materials are good, and the seams appear substantial, but the fit is just a bit *off*. I think they'll be ok for a 60 minute spin class, but I will not be wearing these on a century ride.

About Mavic

Mavic is a French manufacturer of cutting edge cycling wheel sets, rims, cycling components and bike computers. With its roots dating back to 1889, Mavic has been involved in the competitive cycling industry nearly since its inception. In the early 1930s, Mavic was one of the first companies to design and manufacture a dished aluminum bike rim, which would quickly become the standard over antiquated steel rims. Today, with over one hundred years of experience in the cycling industry, Mavic continues to produce groundbreaking wheel, rim, spoke and hub designs that push the boundaries of performance. The Mavic company has always had the steep, winding roads of the French Alps at its heart. This is where Mavic tests products like its Ksyrium road wheels and Crossmax MTB wheels; Mavic wheel sets are seen on these same roads every year during the Tour de France.
