5.0 out of 5 stars. Why I like American madeVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Texas on Tuesday, January 6, 2015Very pleased with my purchase of Red Wing Heritage 8144 classic boots. I shop for top brand clothing and Red Wing is one of the best, they have been around for a hundred years making boots in America and they have it mastered. Their Heritage line of boots are their best with only the very best leathers they have are used in their production, hand picked leather by people that know a good leather when they see it. These boots are comfortable with leather insoles and that broken in feeling that you only get with high quality footware. I love the colour of these boots, they go with all other colours and I have already recieved many compliments on them and they do draw attention and introduce you as a person of fashion. Get ya a pair, you want regret it and the price through Sierra Trading Post can't be beat. Step up in style, you owe it to yourself. Oh, and if the white laces are to bold for you they also come with a second set of laces in a brown colour and at no extra charge.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great BootsReviewed by PETFish from Michigan on Saturday, October 18, 2014This is my first pair of Good Year Welted boots, but they're wonderful so far. The roughout looks great in person, and really matches with what I wear (dark navy, khaki, white, etc.) They're taking quite awhile to break-in but I also have 3/4 orthotics for flat feet.
Since the list of Pros on these boots is really long, I'm going to write a short list of 'Cons', none of which were bad enough for me to take away a star considering that I plan on having these boots for a long time. If you don't see your concern/thought listed, I probably liked it.
Cons:
-Stock laces suck.
The stock laces that came with these boots were two pair, one funky synthetic leather type one (the white you see in the image) that was generally unpleasant to touch and tie (and didn't look great IMO) and a pair of paracord type ones that were vibrant yellow and brown. Yuck. Again, since I want these boots for a long time, I had no problem swapping out the laces for some nice leather ones. Just mentally tack on $5 when you buy these.
-Last was somewhat uncomfortable.
Again, I have flat feet that require orthotics. With my orthotics in, right at the arch of my foot, these boots were initially uncomfortable and pressed my feet down. Now as I break them in, they're considerably better, but if you have high arches, unlike what another posters said, I would not recommend these boots.
All in all, great boots. Would purchase again. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Dy no mite boots!Verified Buyer Reviewed by The Bear from Lacey, WA on Thursday, July 3, 2014Well made, great fit, great color! As with all suede shoes, make sure to treat them (carefully) for stain and water resistance and be careful of the toes. Ain't no deal like a great deal! STP rocks. Keep in mind that Red Wings are made in the USA using lasts formed for American feet. If you wear a 12 in foreign made shoes and/or boots, a Red Wing 11 or 11.5 will be fine and you will have toe room to spare. The lasts that Red Wing uses also account for the widths of American adult feet, so if you have wide feet you won't go wrong with Red Wings.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Nice boots, but high archVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from minneapolis on Monday, May 12, 2014Great Red Wing quality at a really nice price. Heads up: the pair I got were more blue than gray, and the arch was too high for my feet. If you have a high arch, these will be great boot for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Blue Suede BootsReviewed by Jerseyphresh from NJ on Friday, March 28, 2014These are my second pair of Red Wing Shoes so I knew what to expect: high quality and top notch craftsmanship produced right here in the USA. These have no indication they are seconds and look amazing right out of the box. If you've never had Red Wings before be prepared for a break in period of at least a few weeks. I've worn mine pretty much everyday (these go with everything) and after almost 2 full weeks I can tell they are molding to my feet. Once they are broken in its like wearing sneakers.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent bootsReviewed by Anonymous from Chicago, IL on Wednesday, March 26, 2014I purchased Red Wing with a little trepidation after reading horror stories about breaking them in. I'm glad I went ahead and took the plunge. After a wear or two, these have completely broken in and fit my feet perfectly. The color is a beautiful lighter blue with no hint of grayness that I imagined they might have. I sized down a whole size - I normally wear an 11-1/2 but went for 10-1/2 here - and they fit well it slightly snug width-wise. I would have probably been fine with an 11 too. I also suede-proofed them against water and stains. The color really stands out and you'll get a lot of compliments with these. Can't recommend them highly enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars. These boots rockReviewed by Adoptadog from Michigan on Wednesday, March 19, 2014Stylish and versatile best describe these blue suede chukkas from Red Wing. RW leather is thick, so it will take a bit for the shoes to break in. Be patient. And as usual, STP offered that at a price that nobody, not even a billionaire, could ignore.

5.0 out of 5 stars. A great value and cool shoeReviewed by macko from Georgia on Friday, March 7, 2014Red wings are great and comfortable value. My dad (who owned a shoe mfg plant in Maine when I was a kid) always used to say when you see a Goodyear welt ( to hold sole onto upper), it's a good boot. These are totally unlike Chinese glued up shoes that are designed to fail in a limited # of years.
The grey leather is supple and even and obvious high quality; really unique color.
I find the medium width a bit wide for my foot, so be prepared to wear with a liner sock. Red wings are great for wear on concrete. Bought with "coupon" discount, these shoes are an incredible deal. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Review On Red Wing Boots.Reviewed by Forereel from Denver Colo. on Sunday, January 5, 2014The Red Wing Heritage 8144 Classic 6" Boots look nice, are made well. I normally wear a size 11, but with these boots went down to a 10 and a half, so maybe American shoe makers make the larger the Europeans. I have wore the several times and have walked about 2 miles in one stretch, but they are not completely broken in, so that long walk, so I wonder about how long it will require. The soles are real stiff, so that long walk, although comfortable, left my feet knowing I'd done it. Beautiful color and workmanship. If not for the stiff soles, and the rawhide laces, that require sometime to soften, I'd say these boots were tops. These laces took a few times before they stay. Maybe I need to tie them in the type of tie you'd use for a child? Ill have to give them a pass, being this is my first experience with laces made this way. They do look nice though.
