4.0 out of 5 stars. I like them, but they're probably not very warm
Reviewed by NE Nature walker from W. Ma. on Friday, January 10, 2014
The fit is good, and they're comfortable. I am short and the 3/4 length comes to about an inch above my ankles, which is perfect. When I ordered them, I was looking for long johns to help me get through a cold winter. I did not understand what the packaging explained - that these are not thermals and not expecially good for that purpose. Nonetheless, I ordered one additional pair. I think these will be good for days of running errands in the cold, days when I'm in and out. For outdoor activities, hours outside in the cold, these are probably not the best. By using these for the errand days, I can save my regular pair for a day of hiking.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Great tights

These are great for workout or biking but they can also be used as casual wear or even under a nice skirt....great for dancing too
  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Seems nice, did not work for me

I'm petite (5'1"), but this wasn't a capri or boot length. It hit right below the knee. That's an awkward length. It was also very tight around the bottom while being loose on the top. Maybe going down a size would have helped the fit. But, that would not have helped the length.

  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. More like a light-weight layer

The fabric is much thinner than I expected. They are just a little thicker than a pair of casual tights. Maybe these would work as mid-weight layer in a warmer climate, but for Northern NM they are completely inadequate. I didn't even bother to try them on, so I can't offer any feedback on sizing.

About Pearl Izumi

Before Kinji Shimizu created the first Pearl Izumi cycling apparel, he spent nearly seven days a week on his bike delivering 90 pounds of clothes to customers. He frequently pedaled 38 miles a day. Years later, after his son received a special Italian-made cycling jersey, Kinji was inspired to start creating his own using the best fabrics he could find. The result soon evolved into the Pearl Izumi brand. In the five decades since, the company Kinji founded has continued working hard to make the best gear possible for dedicated athletes and weekend warriors. From incredibly lightweight Pearl Izumi shoes to sleek, comfortable Pearl Izumi running apparel, few other brands have the same relentless drive toward innovation as Pearl Izumi.
