This coat is lightweight and the material is soft. Well fitting hood. Ordered my normal size, fits well, should be room for a fleece underneath. Bought it for a summer trip to Alaska. Haven't worn it in the rain yet so can't vouch for waterproof capabilities.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. High-Quality Rainwear for the Right Woman
Reviewed by Rivertown Gal from Oregon on Thursday, March 20, 2014
I really wanted this jacket to work for me, but sadly it didn't. Pros include beautiful silky exterior fabric without the crackle and noise of much rainwear, a multitude of pockets and a more "engineered" style. I also like the cuffs with multiple rows of stitching in the elastic at the back and a smooth dressier band at the front. What didn't work was an extremely high stiff collar when the hood is enclosed. I felt like a turtle and the rubbing was uncomfortable. Also, sadly, the belt is stitched down at the middle of the back inside the casing, which means if you tighten or loosen the belt you risk a buckle that's not centered and you don't have the option of removing. The shoulders and chest are very roomy but the hips were snug so while the coat fit I didn't feel it would be comfortable for serious walking unless I opened the two-way zipper. Reluctantly I returned, but for the right person it will be a quality and stylish purchase.

Over the years, this trusted American brand has enhanced its woolens and other fabrics with contemporary textures, dying techniques and washes, all designed to improve performance and comfort for the modern consumer.
