  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Not fitting right

The sleeves are snug and the body is kind of big. I bought a small and I'm 5'5" 120 lbs. My arms aren't huge but they're not super skinny. The sleeves when rolled up are too tight, but the body is almost too wide. I like the material though. It's cotton that's never going to need ironing which is great by me!

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. tight sleeves and noisy fabric

Beware the sleeves, like others have said. At 38-30-41, I usually wear a size 8 or Medium in Carhartt. I've been gaining a little weight, so I ordered M and L sizes in this Huron plaid shirt. I nearly returned both sizes. In the end, I kept the Large, as a Saturday chore shirt. Overall, it seems like a nice warm weather fabric, and well made, with triple stitched seams and decently sewn buttons, for once. But the cut is just too strange. Sleeves are cut for a stick person. My arms measure 9" around just above the elbow where the rolled-up cuffs sit, and a Large is just barely big enough for my arms to be comfortable. Any tighter and the cuffs would be cutting off blood supply. I'd need Large arms on a Medium body for this shirt to work for me. I also have found the fabric to be somewhat stiff and rustling/noisy even after machine wash and dry. I'll still find use for this shirt gardening, cleaning, and other activities where appearances don't matter and the ample shirt length and coverage would be appreciated. If you have any bulk to your upper arms at all, best steer clear. Try again, Carhartt.

    nice cut on shirt--feels great
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Nice shirt, sleeves way too tight!

I tried this shirt in two sizes, Small and Medium. My arms are not particularly big--I think they're pretty average sized for a small woman, but I could tone them up a little better... That wouldn't help though. I was able to squeeze my arms into the sleeves of the size small shirt, but I think they would have turned purple in a very short time. Sadly, the body of the size small shirt fit perfectly and I needed the colors available. I ordered the size medium because of the reviews warning about the sleeves and I wanted to compare sizes. I was pretty surprised to find that even the medium shirt's sleeves were unwearable. Although not quite as tight as the sleeves on the small, the sleeves were very uncomfortable and couldn't have been worn for more than a very brief time. The body on the medium was not as flattering for me so I sent it back as well. I think these are a pass, unless you want to cut off the sleeves altogether and go with nicely fitting sleeveless shirts. Hmm--wish I'd thought of that before sending them back...
