Outdoor Research Soleil Hoodie Sweatshirt - Trim Fit, Full Zip (For Women)

Even better than i expected! Really soft feel to the fleece. I wear a M/L and the Large fits just fine. The blue color is yummy.

Purchased for my wife. This is a great looking, fitted, fleece hoodie. True to size. She loves it.

I liked a lot of things about this jacket, starting with the fit. This jacket had a fit similar to the OR Radiant Hybrid Fleece Jacket and the OR Longhouse Jacket, except this jacket, as the name suggests, has a hood. The cut was generally good for my hourglassy smallish medium frame (34C bust - 27" waist - 38.5" hips, with broader shoulders). I ordered a Small and a Medium, and while I could get the Small on, it was definitely too tight at the bust and shoulders. The Medium fit generally well, especially through the torso, following my curves. The sleeves were somewhat too long (to the knuckles on me), and no thumb-holes. Barring the too-long sleeves, this fleece basically fit me perfectly, even in the hood. I also loved the colors – Desert Sunrise was a coral raspberry; “Aquarium” was a flattering turquoise mint. Unfortunately, one major thing prevents me from giving the Soleil Hoodie a glowing review. The material was disappointing: while very soft, it felt flimsy to me, and the pile felt very shallow. Even on a warm September evening I could feel the breeze on my skin through the fleece. It also seemed delicate - like the kind of fabric that would disintegrate and/or pill within a few washings, and definitely within a season. This is really a shame, as I loved the cut and colors. I contemplated getting it to wear around the house, but at this price point that just didn’t seem to make much sense. I hope OR keeps this design and fit, but makes the fleece much more substantial for this price - maybe by using actual Polartec (ideally Power Stretch)

This has become my go-to "sweatshirt" for the cooler than usual spring we've been having. Desert Sunrise is a nice reddish pink, not too loud, and the Small is true to size. It is fitted, but there is still plenty of room for a thin shirt underneath, so I would probably call it a Classic rather than Trim fit. It doesn't hug your body, but is still flattering and very comfortable with extra room under the arms. It's a good length on me (I'm 5'3") and is cut slightly longer in the back, so it would be fine for someone taller as well. I like that the sleeves are snug enough in the wrists to not drop down over my hands (so I don't have to roll them up), and they stay in place if I want to push them up. I also like the look of the stand up collar. The "map pocket" is quite large and goes all the way to the side seam, but it is attached at the side and completely flat, so there is no bulk at all if you are not using it. There are also two large inside pockets behind the hand pockets. I haven't washed it yet, but it looks to be very well constructed, and well worth the price.
