5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent Lightweight LayerVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from New Hampshire on Thursday, July 14, 2016I bought this product as a light layer for hiking or skiing. It provides incredible warmth without the bulk and weight of other choices. An added plus is the attractive styling and fitted look. Easy to pack for travel, so impressed I bought it in three colors!

3.0 out of 5 stars. Sizing offReviewed by Jules from St louis, Mo on Wednesday, December 30, 2015This heavy-duty shirt is absolutely perfect but for one thing: the small was absolutely huge on me. I used the sizing guide, so expected the form-fit that was described. (34 bust, 27" waist) I had inches and inches of loose material swimming around my waist, and it fitted more like a winter jacket than a fitted shirt. Suffice it to say that I was very sad to send it back, as it would have become one of the nicest articles I own otherwise.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Style and comfortVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Florida on Tuesday, March 24, 2015With the temperatures dropping again, I am giving my SmartWool PhD HyFi Base Layer Top a try before a potentially wet and cool hike in a couple of months. The zip-neck makes putting it on and taking it off easy and helps me adjust how much warmth I get. My wrists stay nice and warm, too, when I utilize the thumb holes built into the sleeves. The top is stylish as well as comfortable and will be perfect not only for backpacking, but also for winter tours of cities here and abroad. I have learned from experience that strategic layers are the way to pack, and this top will certainly be an all-season item in my luggage. After field testing on the trail and in the city, I may up my rating to 5 stars.
