The eyelet-type holes are on the tops of the foot as well as above the ankle, but the cotton knit on the sole of the foot is solid. They are lightweight and the perfect sock for summer and early fall.

It's a bit more useful to wear for work and such which I like. Soft fabric and I love the lovely crochet look. I feel all the more sexy when I wear them, just that little added touch! The socks feel like they are not soft and I can feel every fiber of the sock digging into my foot. It was so uncomfortable that I thought the sock design would be etched onto my foot. Also they were labeled up to size 12 but my daughter (size 11) could not fit them so I inherited them.
