5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Tights

I've worn these tights for a couple of brisk fall runs and I have to say...I'm impressed. Before ordering these tights, I did a 5 mile run in Chicago October weather in cotton leggings and I was freezing during and afterwards. My runs in these new tights have been in colder, windier weather and I've stayed warm not only during the run, but afterwards too! They are everything I was hoping for in a pair of running tights.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Good, not what I needed

These tights are not at all flocked or wind blocking for winter rides. If I kept them, I would only wear them during transitional times (late spring or fall). My body temp runs cold so these did not provide any warmth that I need during cold weather. The fabric was thin. Like most Pearl Izumi gear, they ran a size small.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Great until you start moving
Reviewed by Runnin' 'n Saggin' from Utah on Tuesday, November 11, 2014
They look and feel good, but they slip down like crazy while running. The drawstring helps, but not enough. The dense outer side of the material feels rugged and warm, but is a little constrictive of movement. Perhaps I should have ordered a size down to avoid the sagging but I think they'd be pretty uncomfortable then. (I'm a tall size 6 and tend to fall between S and M, but some PI stuff seems to run tiny so I went with the M). I'm hoping that they hold up a little better (literally) for hiking or skate skiing, but I'd be surprised.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Great tights

These are great for riding to work on cold mornings. I like the zipper at the ankle. The way the waist fits isn't quite right (not small enough at the top but too small down towards the hips) but this is a pretty common problem for me because I'm shaped like a cello.

Bought these for a 5k walk in late October and they worked great. I will be wearing them all winter.

About Pearl Izumi

Before Kinji Shimizu created the first Pearl Izumi cycling apparel, he spent nearly seven days a week on his bike delivering 90 pounds of clothes to customers. He frequently pedaled 38 miles a day. Years later, after his son received a special Italian-made cycling jersey, Kinji was inspired to start creating his own using the best fabrics he could find. The result soon evolved into the Pearl Izumi brand. In the five decades since, the company Kinji founded has continued working hard to make the best gear possible for dedicated athletes and weekend warriors. From incredibly lightweight Pearl Izumi shoes to sleek, comfortable Pearl Izumi running apparel, few other brands have the same relentless drive toward innovation as Pearl Izumi.
