5.0 out of 5 stars. Stunning and most amazing STP acquisition I am so grateful to wear

I purchased the Julia Wrap in both Black and Brown, for a combined insane $100.00, wear one of them every day in Southern California and have gotten more mileage in them than I do from my car. The weight is light but filled with warmth and I can't remember purchasing another garment that makes me feel as wonderful as this coat, which I have worn to interviews instead of a suit, meetings, over jeans, to barre class, and always feel unexpectedly elegant and uplifted. I was worried that the ruffle would be too much but it is a subtle hint of feminine styling that is counterbalanced nicely with a pair of Frye boots or oxfords.

What attracted me to this coat when I first saw the picture was the absence of any hardware which gives it a modern and actually minimum look, and more so because the coat is also unlined and without pockets which makes it feel like a second and luxurious skin. I'm thinking of going one step further and having a tailor remove the self-belt which adds a bit of bulk as I got into the habit of wearing the coat unbelted and open anyway because there isn't enough fabric to cover my hips the way I would prefer. I am a true size 10 in pants and jeans and a Medium top and ordered the Medium sized coat. If you are a Size 8 and get the Medium it should fit perfectly. I think the Large may have been too big as I love the fitted styling but possibly it would have worked too.

This coat is high quality and worth its weight in gold compared the junk one encounters in bricks-and-mortar stores when you are pressed to find something that looks well for a special occasion. I've written this detailed review because I was surprised that no one else has commented on this beautiful coat. The burgundy looks like it would be majestic as well.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. high quality but not for me

I loved the feel of the boiled wool and wish that this coat had worked out for me. Something about the fit wasn't right for me. It attaches at the waist and accented my chest and shoulders in an unflattering way. The ruffle added bulk where I did not want it. I'm 5 ' with an average build. Maybe it would work better on someone taller?
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Wrap jacket

Nice boiled wool sweater (I wouldn't necessarily consider it a jacket since the wool is somewhat thin). I purchased this product for my mother in the large. It looked attractive and she was pleased with it.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Nice sweater

This sweater looks good with a pair of leggings and boots. The ruffle "dresses" up this look. Overall, the sweater is nice. The boiled wool is thinner and stiffer than what I would expect from boiled wool. I suppose if it was thicker, the sweater would be too bulky, I ordered an XL and this was true to size for me. For the price I paid (50% of the regular STP price), it is worth it.

About Venario

Founded by Ralf Reisinger in 1998, Venario is a unique women’s apparel brand that has become well-known throughout Europe and the US for coats, jackets and designer apparel made of boiled wool, merino wool and other natural fibers. Unlike traditional wool, boiled wool is denser, softer, warmer and more wind-resistant. With a texture similar to felt, boiled wool has been used to make clothing and blankets for centuries, making it a time-tested material used to create stylish, comfortable women’s outerwear. Available only through select retailers and specialty clothing boutiques, Venario jackets and coats are easily among the best on the market today, and Venario sweaters, shirts and accessories are also outstanding.
