5.0 out of 5 stars. Stiff but nice boots

These boots look really cool but they are definitely stiff, i'm sure they will loosen up a bit when I break them in. They have a Velcro strap on the inner liner that is kind of weird design because I don't feel it does much but better safe than sorry I guess. They run a little small too so order at least a half size bigger. Overall they are comfy supportive and look good so for the price they are definitely a great purchase!

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Runs small

Ordered these and they were too small, compared to my true size. Also, I found the BOA was hard to release when the boots were tight.

Good boots for the price it is. Be sure to expect a stiff boot, that is not easy to break into. The first few times up it took me a while to adapt the riding. Its comfortable on the foot, and half size up is great.
The down side i would point out is that the side boa does not compress as much as you want. its a pretty low limit.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Runs a bit big, but otherwise excellent

Had to return the 10 - seemed a full size too big, but the 9-1/2 fit like a 9 and works really well. The laces can be tricky, read the instructions for the cable tensioner.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. DC Gizmo Snowboard boots

I have ridden five days in these boots and they have performed well. I wear a size 10 in normal shoes and per everyone's suggestion on other DC boots I got these a half size up and not a full size up as some suggest. That said I could have almost stayed at a 10. I am not sure why people think that the DC boots are sized significantly larger. I wouldn't order these more than a 1/2 size up. I like my snowboard boots tight like a ski boot - and these deliver on that fairly well. I actually purchased three other boots and finally settled on these due to their stiffness and adjust-ability. Though I do not like lacing up the top in the cold dry Colorado weather it does offer good adjust-ability in your desired stiffness - that is coupled with the BOA system over the bottom section. I have a hard time getting the BOA tight enough, though I hear that this is a common problem with all BOA systems. When I strap into my bindings and the boot is a bit tighter I give the BOA a few more clicks and then it is good. I like the Velcro on the liner as other DC boots didn't have this and it makes the liner a bit more compact so that it is easier to lace down the exterior. The strap system to tighten the liner could be a bit better like the Solomon quick lace system, but that is a rather minor complaint. The toe is a little slippery for my Burton Custom cup bindings - the tow strap tends to slip around. They are terrifically light boots, which is a nice feel. They are way more responsive than my old Northwaves. They keep my feet warm and comfortable and for the price they are a fantastic deal.
