My usage of these socks extends to normal, pedestrian activities, and they do not disappoint! They are very thick and cushy--just the ticket inside a pair of Blundstone boots. You'd probably want to make another selection if you're trying to ease them into snug footwear. The fit is very nice and so is the price--especially for what you're getting. I couldn't detect what made these 2nds--they are top drawer to me.

They are mid weight to light weight. They feel a little rough wearing them around the calf and feet but once you wash them they feel oh so much better. I wear a 10.5-11 shoe size and the large fit just fine even after a tad shrinkage in the dryer. Turning them inside out is a MUST for merino and these Point6 socks are one of my favorites. I even wear them to work as dress socks, make the day go so much better.

The only problem is that they come to the middle of my calf, causing them to continually slide down when I move around. I'll try them with my Nordic gear, since my pants are more form fitting, they may hold the socks up.
