Just enough heel and the leather is beautiful. They were almost perfect out of the box except the top part of the shoe rubbed a bit on the top of my right foot but that issue is now gone as the shoe softened up with subsequent wearings. My Born lace-up oxfords are 7.5 and my normal size is 8. I got these in 8's and they are perfect.

They are SO comfortable. I am ususally on my feet at work 10 hours and my feet felt fine after ther first day of wearing them.
