2.0 out of 5 stars. runs very narrow and not sure how waterproof they are

these run very narrow- the 6 was more narrow than my other actions which are a 5.

the liner was almost impossible to get back into the boot, and i have tiny hands, so i think a person would average hands would be very frustrated by this.

also the rubber part is waterproof but the upper material does not claim to be. since the liner has a large slit in the front, as liner do, i think moisture wicking into your toddlers socks will be big problem, because the design of the top part means it is very baggy and there is nothing keeping the slit on the liner closed together underneath. the strap across the ankle is great for stability, if your child has narrow feet and can wear these in the first place, but it does keep the area above the strap tightened. the matieral on the top of the boot is very thin and not lined at all or treated so i would assume it is not waterproof or even water resistant.

also the toggle on the top was very hard to tighten, defeating the purpose of a toggle in my opinion when you have a squirmy toddler ready to go play outside who has already sat through probably many layers of clothing and has lost his/her patience for you to fiddle with the boots for five minutes, haha.

i had high hopes for these but will be definitely sending them back.

  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. Acton Sid winter boots

Beware!!! These boots are extremely narrow -- I purchased them to replace a pair of Sorel boots my 3 year old had outgrown, thinking they would be similar ... Trust me when I say they're not. The Acton boot is HALF the width of the Sorel boot. My little one couldn't even get his foot into it despite being the correct length. I couldn't even get his 1.5 year old brother's foot into them. Completely useless. Do not order these unless your child has freakishly narrow feet!

  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Too Narrow and not sure if they would actually function well

i ordered a size 6 for my 18 month old who wears a 5.5 Wide. they were plenty long, but too narrow. i know my guy has fat little trotters, so i guess that isn't entirely their fault, but usually snow boots are pretty wide to accommodate thick socks so i thought ordered up a half size would do; unfortunately it won't. also i thought the liners were ridiculously difficult to put back in- and i have very small hands. on top of that, i thought the drawstring was difficult to tighten- one side is sewn into the hole so it only tightens one way and for some reason the string is stiff and not easy to adjust. the liner looks really nice and probably keeps feet warm, however i have my doubts about the functionality in actual use. the liner has a big slit down the middle, like liners do, but the top material is not waterproof (the rubber sole is) or lined in any way, so i really think that over time, moisture would wick into the boot and past the large slit and leave my little one with wet and cold feet. no fun!! i had high hopes for this brand but i am sending this back. too bad :(
