2.0 out of 5 stars. Deceiving looks made to imitate mesh upperReviewed by Alex from Atlanta, GA on Saturday, June 27, 2015The image on the website would make you think shoes have a mesh-like upper, very breathable. Not true!
When I received the shoes I was surprised to see the fabric was made to IMITATE the appearance of mesh. In fact, its not well-ventilated at all. Very deceiving. I have returned them despite the decent fit. -

5.0 out of 5 stars. Much better than Mizuno Wave Rider 14 & 16Verified Buyer Reviewed by VA Biker from Shenandoah Valley of Virginia on Sunday, March 15, 2015I am a 4-5,000mi/yr cyclist who runs in the light-diminished months of Nov-Feb., with a little in Oct. and Mar. For years I used Mizuno Wave Rider model shoe. It was perfect until model 14. That was a train wreck. I'm usually a year behind in running shoe model years, just to get better deals. I gave away my 14's with a torturous 50miles on them. I then bought Wave Rider 15's. Ah, back to the way it was! Perfect. Bought two prs. Ran two seasons through them. Thought the good times would continue with 16's. Alas, they were almost as bad as the 14's. I quit Mizuno; I was sad but more just wondering what the heck to buy as a replacement shoe. It is super-expensive to probe around buying shoes that aren't right. My casual use friends like the downstream gifts, but it's tough on the pocketbook. I don't know about the Waver Rider 17 and 18's...
I'd been wanted to try a USA New Balance shoe for some time, but wary of plunking down dollars and coming away dissatisfied. I needn't have worried. These 870V3's are everything I'd hoped they'd be. Very light, conformal and sized spot on. They are my new "Mizuno Wave Riders" with dollars going to a US company instead. I bought two pairs on the onset, hoping they'd be good and I could return the 2nd pair if they didn't work. No need; I'm keeping these suckers. I'm a neutral mid-foot striker. I could see where these would work for a heel striker, also. I'm an old guy, running for 35yrs seasonally. These are great for me! -
