The design is good and these are very light shoes. Unfortunate these are not very made. The heal on the show fell off while i was traveling....i had to limp through the train station and then the airport. Shoddy quality therefore it is not a good buy even at Sierra prices.

NiceReviewed by AEJC from Austin, TX on Sunday, October 26, 2014Thomas Dean is a brand started by two (Tom and Dean) of the three founders of Tailorbyrd; the brand is not a shoe company, but did a good job of specifying the design and selecting an Italian factory to make these shoes. The construction is good and the shoe has a full leather lining. However, despite the rubber sole, the insole render it not as comfortable as my Allen Edmonds or Crockett and Jones. While it is a good-looking shoe, and fine when I'm primarily sitting, standing, or walking on carpet, I wear something else when I know I'll be walking more than a few blocks at a stretch.
