The fabric at the top of the sleeves (under the armpit) was a little too much. It was a great fit in the body and the forearms. However, there was too much fabric under the arms...I felt like a flying squirrel. When I rolled the sleeves up, it looked fine...maybe I need longer arms?

For reference, I am 6'0'', 175 lbs,, athletic build. The large size fits me very well. The shirt is cut slimly through the body so those with a wide girth should look elsewhere. Sleeve length is on the long side but perfect for me (ideally, 35.5" fits me best). This is a very lightweight flannel shirt, suitable for multi-season use -- not a winter-weight flannel if that is what you are looking for. If you are borderline size-wise, I'd suggest sizing up rather than down (hopefully my measurements/size choice is instructive). FWIW, I bought three of these shirts -- great price and service from STP.

It is more athletically fit than most American brands, so if you are reasonably fit you won't have the bulk of extra fabric hanging around the middle of your torso. The pattern is subdued so as not to look overly checkered, and it is super comfortable.
