5.0 out of 5 stars. Really really good value!Reviewed by hike bike cook from Seattle on Monday, August 18, 2014This shovel is quite a bit nicer than I was expecting for the sub $10 price tag. The only plastic bits are the handle and end cap. The shaft (I said shaft) is made of metal, as is the digging bit, so it really seems pretty solid. Obviously it would be stronger if it weren't collapsible, but it seems plenty tough for the design and for the price, it's kind of amazing.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Nice and compactVerified Buyer Reviewed by donmo from Tacoma, WA on Wednesday, July 2, 2014I was looking for a shovel that was compact to use snowshoeing (mostly for digging out a bench to sit when we stop for lunch). It's July and I haven't used it yet, but it appears it will do the trick. I've read reviews on other shovels where the neck bends/breaks where the handle meets the shovel. I don't plan on using it fully extended, so hopefully this will not be an issue. Time will tell this winter, but it appears to be a decent little shovel.
To be honest, I'm really tempted to buy another if I can tack it on to an order to get free shipping. It might not be a bad idea to have one in the car in case of snow. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Cool ShovelVerified Buyer Reviewed by Mountain Mike from Utah on Thursday, June 19, 2014This is a nice little shovel. Very similar to my Black Diamond that I paid $60 for. Not sure how long it will last, and I can't say that I'd trust someone's life with in an avalanche situation, but at $8 it's a good tool to have around.
