2.0 out of 5 stars. below average for price pointReviewed by Jboy from Boulder, CO on Monday, July 20, 2015I just got off a 7 day Deso trip and can say I am not impressed with the fit of this unit. I find that it rides up in the front. The front is made up of 2 parts, an inner part that fits tightly against your body and the out part that is sort of loose and is supposed to be able to be held down with the 2 diagonal straps at the bottom. In reality, it stays in one place, and that is too high for my comfort level. Instead of a traditional zipper front you need to place it over your head and clip 3 places on your side. I could not manage to keep them at the same tension and would have to readjust them each time. I understand the pain of zippers, but this did not feel like an improvement. On the positive, it is clearly made of top notch materials and has great floatation.

3.0 out of 5 stars. RIDES UP WHEN PADDLINGVerified Buyer Reviewed by Bob in NH from New Hampshire on Wednesday, July 15, 2015Read reviews where people commented on the vest not riding up on them and looked like a winner.
Took it out on the lake this past week for the first time and although my arms were with plenty of rotation room, the jacket did nothing but ride up and not only interfere with the skirt but under the chin. My old jacket of a different cheaper brand, does not. Not very pleased with a more expensive PFD.
May give it the old try again and if not will return it. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Comfy- Larger than expectedVerified Buyer Reviewed by Nancy from Michigan on Wednesday, June 3, 2015Easy entry, free movement. We got the Jackson--doing it again I may choose the solid black. I am 5'8", 155 lb and ordered a M/L. It is large for me--I would order a XS/S, but will keep this one as it works. Haven't yet had it in the water.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Kokatat Maximus PFDVerified Buyer Reviewed by Martin Boater from Montana on Friday, May 29, 2015Great life jacket! The fit and comfort are superior to anything else I have used in the past. For extended trips and rowing a boat all day it doesn't get in the way. The material is very durable and that goes long way in my book.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent productReviewed by RH from Nevada on Sunday, December 7, 2014This is a fantastic pfd for kayaking. It is short enough to be able to wear a spray skirt underneath, and lays flatter than my previous pfd which zipped up the front. Because of its construction, I recommend it for women; it is extremely comfortable because of the narrower panel down the front. The only downside is putting it on. I've found that I need to fasten the top two clips, slip it over my head, and then fasten the bottom clip and tighten it up. This may be because my arms are on the short side. Nonetheless, the benefits FAR outweigh the small drawback. As always with Kokatat, it is excellent quality. I highly recommend this pfd.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Awesome Kayaking PFDReviewed by Anonymous from Chicago on Monday, September 1, 2014I purchased this after purchasing a different bulkier PFD. I use my PFD primarily for kayaking (fishing specifically) and the PFD fits flawlessly. The slim design allows great arm movements and the shaft of the paddle does not rub against the PFD like with my previous one.
True to size, the construction is great, it is what is expected of Kokatat. -
