I am a bit chunky and frequently wear a large in shirts, but the medium size is great.- flattering even. The material is a jersey, stretchy and weighted like a thick t-shirt and not hot at all. I hope these stay as good looking after I've worn and washed the a few times. Right now, I am very pleased with my purchase. I am 5'4" and they are a little long, but not too much.
