2.0 out of 5 stars. Not comfortableReviewed by Big Nose Frank from North Carolina on Sunday, January 4, 2015I waited two months before deciding to write this review. I really wanted to like these shoes. However they just are not comfortable for me. They seem to be very well-made very stiff soles and i am trying to replace a pair of well worn Keens that have been super comfortable. Since I mail ordered them , when they arrived i wore wear them around the house for a few days to be sure they were comfortable. Then i took them on a few back to back hikes. (5-7 mi) and that when the trouble started. The shoes seem to have the situation of having excessive heel lift as well as the toes bang the front of the shoe. Also at the end of day one my heel started to ache. The next hike a few day later i stuck in a superfeet ortho insole and that helped the aching feet, but the toes still hurt and the heel slipped and started to blister. I always wear an 11 1/2 which these are and they are plenty wide. The quality looks great
I then took them to a cobbler to stretch maybe an extra 1/2 size, he did not speak english very well and it turns out he widenned them and did not stretch them. I cannot return because i shlepped around in them. I am out the cost of shoes, the cost of insoles and another $10 to the moron cobbler who probably ruined them.
The shoes seem VERY well made and would love to make them work. I may have some really nice lawn mowing shoe but for trail hiking they dont seem like they are going to work. I'll have to stick with the Keens I guess.

5.0 out of 5 stars. excellent shoeReviewed by Durango Joe from Colo Mtns on Tuesday, November 4, 2014Very solid build in these.
A real boot, for mtns and trails not the mall.
Fit a wider foot well in a way that's uncommon.
Overall very pleased and would recommend. -

4.0 out of 5 stars. Well made shoeVerified Buyer Reviewed by Rockclimbingguy from Rhode Island on Thursday, September 18, 2014Hi this appears to be a well made shoe with good materials. Made in Croatia.
I wear a size 11 1/2 D as measured with a Brannock measuring device. I bought these in 11 1/2 and they fit good.
I am a rock climber and I climb mostly in New England. I wanted a good quality approach shoe that would do well on damp/wet rock and stay dry if it rained and can hold up well to abuse in the scree field. I do not know yet how these will work but they seem to have the right materials to do well in this regard.
I also like a full rubber rand around the shoe. In many climbing areas especially in New England the approach to the cliff for instance on Cannon has a lot of rock and they tear up shoes. Also Red Rocks in Nevada will tear up shoes as well. Again not sure how these will do but they seem to have the right materials to do well in this regard.
In the past Vibram rubber has worked for me and held up well.
Only time will tell how well they do what I want and expect from a shoe. I have trashed some shoes on just a few long multi pitch climbs that had steep or long approaches through some challenging scree fields.
Obviously the most attractive part is the price. This is an above average shoe for what you pay at Serra Trading Post.
I gave it 4 stars because I just have not put them to the test yet.
Sincerely
Bill
