I move trees for a living. Its heavy duty enough to block the spruce needles and anything the job demands

This one is good and warm. Very nice quality. I couldn't find any flaws on it.

This vest is short in the waist, but they always are. I think it's just the way they're made. If your long-waisted go with the tall for sure.

Listed as irregular. Not sure what was wrong, but it was half price.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great, like everything Carhartt

Despite this is a factory second, I cannot find a single flaw. Of course, that could be the luck of the draw, YMMV.
It runs a little too big, I need 3xl if not for my big belly, than for my wide shoulders. I this case 3xl is closer to 4xl. I believe that to be by design, so you can wear it on top of a shirt, which itself is on top of a sweatshirt.
Yes, it does run a little bit too short, and again I believe that to be intentional. As it is supposed for be worm on top of something, it should not be longer than that shirt, sweatshirt or long sleeve t-shirt.
The pockets are warm, a great choice if you do not have gloves that day.
The zipper is very solid, smooth and on the right side for easy start.
Despite my fear the collar is very comfortable and can be worn or down.
The insulation is slick, so you can put this easily on top of something, yet warm.
The deep blue collar is to die for.
I guess I start sounding like a fan boy and I am not. I am middle aged dude, working in hi-tech. That should tell you this is good for everyone.

About Carhartt

If you're looking for durable, comfortable clothing and outerwear, few other brands can compete with Carhartt. Although the venerable Carhartt clothing company has become one of the most respected names in American work wear today, the brand comes from humble roots. Founded in 1889, the family-owned business started out in Detroit, Michigan with just two sewing machines and five employees. During The First World War, the company made uniforms for the US military and also manufactured work clothing for the Navy during WWII. Today, Carhartt clothing is still known for robust fabrics, top-notch construction and a great fit. From rugged Carhartt jackets and coveralls to jeans and shirts, this is one brand you can trust to deliver the real deal -- every time.
